Time is so fleeting

Recently  a young boy turned 4 and is developing his own sense of life, love and humanity.
I love seeing him grow and develop, make friends outside the family circle, and create his own sense of awareness.
At the same time however, I intensely dislike his eagerness for decision making without the adults in his life making them for him.
He is still very much a child, with all the nuances of the world before him but once children begin the socialisation that before was just family, their language and play changes to an upper level of, shall we say, sophistication and (alas) maturity, educating their parents as they grow just that little bit older.
Albie, like so many others, is a beautiful child and I'm sure he'll do well once school starts.  It's just sad that as they grow up, they grow away from those nurturing years.
His little brother idolises his big brother most of the time, and if push came to a shove, they would defend each other from any monsters that would dare to cross their path.
I am one lucky nana, as they both love me equally and I am hoping that as I age, their love will grow with them.
I will not publish photos of my two grandsons, but instead, post a picture of Maggie May aka Audrey as she too is growing.

yes it is sad when they go to kinder, then start school. So small, so innocent. They do change. But he will find friends like himself and love that whole new world. It's bitter-sweet but kind of exciting to see them develop in sophistication and independence. Little ones sophisticated? Sure they are, especially now-a-days! I know you love them so so much Jen. As they do you. Aren't you lucky to have them in your life? xx
